Realme has confirmed the Realme 8 5G series launch date. The company will launch its 5G mid-range smartphones on April 21 in Thailand. Realme confirmed the launch date via a Facebook post. The video teaser not only confirms the launch date but also reveals the design. The design is fairly similar to the 4G variant. However, it does not come with the big “Dare to Leap” text on the back. Realme 8 5G series will launch on April 21 in Thailand. The company is expected to launch its mid-range smartphones the next day in India.
Realme confirmed the launch date via a teaser video on Facebook. The video confirms the design and some of the key specifications. Unlike the 4G model, the 5G variant of the standard 8 does not have the Dare to Leap branding on the back of the Black variant.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav has also listed some of the key specifications of the upcoming Realme smartphone series. The vanilla 8 5G model will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. It will come with a 5000 mAh battery and a 90Hz display. The phone will also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Based on the specs, it is speculated that the Realme 8 5G will be a rebranded Realme V13 5G. The device was launched in China with a 6.5-inch 90Hz LCD. It comes with a Dimensity 700 SoC with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. On the back, the phone has a 48MP triple-camera setup it runs on Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.

To recall, the Realme 8 Pro sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution, 180Hz touch-sampling rate, and 1000nits brightness. It is powered by the Snapdragon 720G SoC paired with Adreno 618 GPU, up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage that is further expandable. The phone runs on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast-charging support but the company is bundling a 65W adapter in the box.
Realme 8 Pro has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 108MP (f/1.88 aperture) Samsung HM2 primary sensor with PDAF and 6P Lens, an 8MP (f/2.25 aperture) ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP B&W lens. There is a 16MP Sony IMX471 snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.
Realme 8 has the same 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution, 180Hz touch-sampling rate, and 1000nits brightness. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC paired with Mali-G76 MC4 GPU, up to 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage. The phone boots Android 11 OS with Realme UI 2.0 skin on top.
