OnePlus 9 Pro display features revealed
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed a few display features for the OnePlus 9 Pro. In addition to an LTPO screen, QHD+ resolution, and Smart 120Hz refresh rate, the phone will also support native 10-bit colour depth, 1300 nits peak brightness, MEMC, and HDR10+. PCMag has provided a few more details regarding the display after a conversation with DisplayMate Labs head Ray Soneira.
The 9 Pro has a very impressive, excellent, top-tier, world-class smartphone display with close to textbook-perfect calibration accuracy and performance, that is visually indistinguishable from perfect,” Soneira told PCMag.
The Oneplus 9 series comes with a Fluid Display 2.0, which is a combination of a Samsung OLED display and OnePlus’ software optimisation and tuning. The OnePlus 9 Pro gets a 6.7-inch curved display, while the vanilla OnePlus 9 is expected to come with a flat 6.55-inch 120Hz screen. LTPO technology reduces power consumption and also gives screen makers more control over refresh rates. It is perhaps why the OnePlus 9 series can dynamically switch between 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rates.
