Asus has officially taken the lid off the ROG Phone 5 series globally. The smartphone maker has decided to add three new devices to the ROG lineup, namely the ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 5 Pro, and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate. It is worth noting that sets apart these three devices is the RAM, storage variations, finish and backlighting.
Apart from this, the AreoAtive Cooler 5 is bundled with the Pro and Ultimate versions.
Asus ROG Phone 5 Accessories
The ROG Phone 5 series is set to go on sale on Flipkart on April 15, 2021, at 12:00 pm (IST). Asus also unveiled accessories for the ROG Phone 5, including the AeroActive Cooler 5 (Rs 2,999), ROG Kunai 3 Gamepad (Rs 9,999), ROG Cetra II Core Headset (Rs 4,599), and ROG Phone 5 Lighting Armor Case (Rs 2,999). None of these accessories will be included in the device’s retail box.
Asus ROG Phone 5 Price
The Asus ROG Phone 5 Pro’s price in India is set at Rs 49,999 for the base 8GB/128GB model, while the 12GB/256GB variant will set you back Rs 57,999. The ROG Phone 5 Pro is priced at Rs 69,999 only for the 16GB/512GB model, while the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate’s price is set at 79,999 for a whopping 18GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 specifications
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2,448 x 1,080 pixels resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ support, 20.4:9 aspect ratio, Pixelworks i6 display processor, and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It is powered by a 2.84GHz Snapdragon 888 SoC with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs on Android 11-based ROG UI custom skin on top and packs a large 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support.
Moving to optics, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 has a triple camera setup at the back with a 64MP (f/1.8 aperture) Sony IMX686 sensor, a 13MP (f/2.4 aperture) 125-degree wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor. There is a 24MP snapper on the front for selfies and video calling and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The phone has a ROG (RGB light) logo and dual 7-magnet linear 12x16mm front-facing speakers with GameFX and Dirac HD sound powered by dual Cirrus Logic CS35L45 Mono AMP. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
ASUS ROG Phone 5 comes with GameCool 5, combined with the best components and PC-like control of the SoC, users can overclock and increase the throttle limit of the CPU/GPU for demanding games and limit the performance for longer battery life. It offers a side-charging design, the latest AirTrigger 5 technology, dual front-facing speakers, multi-antenna Wi-Fi, and a quad-mic noise-cancelling array. The new AeroActive Cooler 5 offers two physical buttons for game input, a kickstand, and a fan that draws its power directly from the phone. ASUS is offering multiple accessories, ROG Kunai 3 gamepad for ROG Phone 5, ROG Clip, profession Dock, and Lighting Armor Case.
ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate Edition specifications
ASUS ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate Edition have also been launched. The core specifications, such as the 6.78-inch display, 6,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 888, 5G support, and 65W fast-charging remain unchanged. The ROG Phone 5 Pro comes with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and ROG Vision – Color PMOLED display that can show customisable graphics for incoming calls, loading a game, charging, and more.
The ROG Phone 5 Ultimate Edition comes with a whopping 18GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. It comes in matte white and with a monochrome PMOLED display. The rest of the specifications remain the same.
