OnePlus 9 series with 50MP ultra-wide camera confirmed ahead of launch

 

OnePlus 9 is launching in India on March 23 and ahead of the official unveiling, the company has revealed a few features of the phone. The OnePlus 9 series will offer support for 5G and a quad rear camera setup. It will include a 50MP Sony IMX766 ultra-wide camera. The OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone is expected to offer a 50MP camera, but it is unknown whether the same sensor will also be offered by the standard version of the phone.

The company has partnered with camera manufacturer Hasselblad to offer users an enhanced camera experience with the OnePlus 9 series. The key highlight of the upcoming OnePlus 9 phones will likely be the cameras as the company is co-developing it with Hasselblad.

OnePlus 9 Pro to use Sony IMX766 camera sensor

1. OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 9 Pro will come with a 50MP Sony IMX766 camera sensor. The camera will look to capture crisp and clear ultra-wide photos. This is in line with previous leaks regarding the OnePlus 9 Pro camera specifications. In addition to the 50MP wide-angle lens, the OnePlus 9 Pro is also expected to come with a 48MP IMX789 primary camera, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP sensor.

 The OnePlus 9 series is confirmed to come with a new Hasselblad Pro Mode. The feature will look to offer “accurate and natural colour for a solid foundation for post-editing.” The Hasselblad Pro mode will provide professional photographers with the ability to adjust ISO, focus, exposure, white balance, and more.

OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro specifications are widely expected to include the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phones are also expected to come with a 120Hz display and up to QHD+ resolution. The OnePlus 9 phones should support the company’s latest 65W fast charging solution. We know that the OnePlus 9 Pro will come with Hasselblad-branded quad cameras, but the OnePlus 9 may offer a triple camera system.
