Realme 8 Pro in-display fingerprint sensor confirmed before launching

The Realme 8 Pro is inching closer to launch, with a tip from earlier today stating that the device may launch on March 25. Now, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has posted a brief clip on Twitter showing off an in-display fingerprint sensor on an unspecified smartphone, but the overall make of the device shown in the video practically confirms that the Realme 8 Pro will be getting an in-display fingerprint sensor. The move will be interesting to note since the Realme 7 Pro, the successor to the upcoming 8 Pro, was a mid-range smartphone that sported a physical fingerprint sensor. As a result, the Realme 8 Pro is now expected to offer more upgrades than just internal performance.

Realme 8 specifications (rumoured)

An alleged Realme 8 Pro with the model number RMX3081 was spotted on the FCC certification site, revealing some key specifications. This suggests the handset will pack a 4,500mAh battery with a 65W fast charging solution and boot Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box. Separately, another leak revealed the Realme 8 Pro will be available in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM options, paired with 128GB storage. It will be available in Infinite Black, Infinite Blue, and Illuminating Yellow colour options.

The Realme 8 series is said to include at least two models, Realme 8 4G, Realme 8 Pro 4G, and Realme 8 Pro 5G. The base model is said to come with Snapdragon 720G, while the Pro model may have Snapdragon 732G chipset. There’s also a 5G variant in the works but the chipset details are under wraps. The alleg  uned TENAA listing of Realme 8 says it may arrive with a 6.5-inch display, 5,000mAh battery, triple cameras, and punch-hole design. Though the company has confirmed the Realme 8 series, the exact launch date remains to be under wraps, for now. However, the latest leak claims the Realme 7 successors might launch on March 25th in India. We should learn more information going forward.
